Hello and welcome to my online portfolio.
I have been involved in photography since leaving school in 1988, where I started out as a darkroom assistant at Wilson S. Groat photography in Edinburgh, 18 months later the name was changed to Churchill Photography, where I continued to work for George McLeod as a photographers assistant and darkroom technician until 1999.
During my time there, I passed my NC in photography after a 2 year day-release course(1995-1997) at Stevenson College in Edinburgh, followed by passing my 2yr full-time course in HND photography(1997-1999) again at Stevenson College, whilst still doing my full-time dark room duties.
In the summer of 1999, I moved away from Churchill Photography and started out as a freelance photographer for various newspaper titles.
In the Autumn of 2000 I was offered a position of Chief Photographer with a sports management company, The Sportsmasters Network(TSN.com), who later changed there name to 110Sport.
At the tail end of 2001, I was offered a staff position at the biggest selling newspaper in Scotland, the Sunday Mail, I continue to work for the Sunday Mail as well as the Daily Record as a staff photographer after the merger of the picture desks in 2010. Here I am required to produce high quality images and turn them around quickly covering news, sports, features, events, advertising, fashion & business photography for use on social media as well as appearing in the newspapers.
